Robin Spicher, 55, of Peterborough, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Mass General Hospital in Boston after a period of failing health.
She was born on December 15, 1965 in Keene, NH, the daughter of Gary R. and Jean (Sanborn) Spicher. Robin was a 1984 graduate of Con-Val High School in Peterborough and had worked for many years at NEBS as well as Brookside in Wilton where her daily interactions with her customers were her favorite part of her day.
Robin grew up in Peterborough where she was a part of the brownies troop for many years. She then moved around a bit ending up in Milford for some time and then back to Peterborough to take care of her mother and then her sister in their times of failing health.
Robin enjoyed more than anything else, spending time with her family and friends, the two were often the same to her. She was always ready for a trip to the beach or an impromptu road trip. Seasonal fruit picking was one of her favorite activities, often picking apples as many times as the season would allow. Robin also enjoyed painting pottery, playing never ending games of UNO with her great nephews and relaxing and watching the wildlife in her backyard paradise. This is also where you could find her impressive vegetable garden every year, often growing much more than she could ever need just so she could share with her neighbors and friends.
Robin had the biggest heart anyone could have, when she loved you, she loved you fiercely and that was that. She was also one of the most stubborn people, not taking no for an answer, if you tried to tell her no, you might have been met with some colorful language and her sassy sense of humor. She was especially stubborn in her strive for life, never complaining of her health and simply blazing forward despite her obstacles. She will be forever remembered with her enormous smile that could light up the room, her warm greetings and her even warmer hugs always followed by a kiss on the cheek.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Spicher on January 18, 2007, her father Gary Spicher on January 2, 2012, and by her sister, Kimberly Spicher on December 4, 2010.
Robin is survived by her step-father, Douglas Hutchinson of Peterborough; her 2 nieces, Mara Wentworth of Townsend, MA and Corrie Rose Hull of Douglas, MA; her nephew, Jesse Bacon of Ayer, MA; her grandnephews, Camdon, Andrew, Noah, and Connor, and her grandniece, Amethyst, but known as Auntie Robin by many many more. She also leaves behind cousins, her beloved cats, and many loving friends who have cherished memories that they will hold until they meet again.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions in Robin’s name to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 W. Swanzey Rd, Swanzey, NH 03446.
There will be no calling hours or services at this time, however the family is planning a celebration of Robin’s life once it is safer to gather together.
