Rocky K. Smith

Rocky K. Smith, 53, of Rindge died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 23, 2015. Rocky was born on October 10, 1961, in Greer, SC, the son of Kaye and Syble (Byars) Smith. Rocky attended schools in South Carolina and when he was young, he proudly worked for his grandfather’s oil company. Later, he owned and operated many restaurants - most recently he and his wife had owned the Central Square Café in Troy. Rocky was a people-person and had a fun loving spirit. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends. Rocky was predeceased by his beloved wife Annie (Olson) Smith and by his parents and his grandparents, Leland and Catherine Byars. Rocky is survived by his step-daughter, Simone (Niemela) Aho and her husband Ethan of Rindge; his son, Joey Smith of Riedville, SC; his daughter Leanne Smith of Greenville, SC as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are warmly invited to his funeral service which will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Christian Outreach Church, 199 North Street in Rindge. Pastor Colin Kinnunen will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery on Goddard Road in Rindge.
