Ronald D. Springfield

Ronald Springfield, 75, of Marlborough, NH, died unexpectedly on April 26, 2017 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a sudden illness.

'Ron' was born in Peterborough, NH on November 2, 1941, son of the late Joseph and Jairetta (Main) Springfield.

After graduating from Peterborough High School in 1959 and Keene State College in 1965, Ron had a long career as a public educator in Massachusetts, Florida and New Hampshire. He finished his teaching career at Conant High School in 2014.

As much as Ron loved teaching, his passion was music. During the late 1950's, Ron played in one of New Hampshire's first Rock-N-Roll bands, Ronnie-B and the Hornets. He continued to play & sing for family and friends throughout his life.

Ron was a loving husband; father and grandfather who enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and perform at musical events during his retirement.

He is survived by his loving family and many friends. Ron was brother to Alan Springfield, Neil Springfield and Susan Springfield; Husband to Martha Trainer Springfield; father to Dana Springfield, David Springfield, Ian Springfield, Karen Springfield and Marni Springfield; Grandfather to Brooke Springfield, Devin Springfield, Abby Springfield, Madison Springfield, Maddy Gallo, Anwyn Springfield, Peyton Springfield and Ava Springfield. We will miss him.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Rte. 202), Jaffrey, NH 03452.

A Graveside Service will take place at 1:00 PM in Pine Hill Cemetery on Sand Hill Road in Peterborough. Rev. Mark Koyama, Pastor of the United Church of Jaffrey will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Stephen C. Record Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 14, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
