Ryan W. Bemis

Ryan W. Bemis, 30, of Fitzwilliam died Monday, December 8, 2008 at his residence with his dog Titan by his side.

Ryan was born in Peterborough, NH on July 2, 1978, the son of Daniel and Susan (Korpi) Bemis. He was a 1997 graduate of Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey and had achieved the Deans List while attending Keene State College in Keene for two years. He also had technical training and was an accomplished Machinist.As well has having his own small business, Shoestring Machine, he was employed with Stingray Optics, in Keene, NH. He was well respected by his peers at Stingray.

Ryan loved music. His passionfor music started at an early age.Music was a way of release for Ryan. He listened to all kinds and heand his friends even ventured to create their own kind of music andhad recorded a CD.Ryan wasa very talented musician, able to pick up any kind of instrument and make music with it. Ryan\'s other devotionwasto his dog and best friend, companion and buddy, an American Bulldog namedTitan.

Ryan was a health food enthusiast whocompeted in triathlons. He spent many hours with his friend, Aarno, riding bicycle for a "short" ride....50 to 70 miles! He loved to hike and back-pack NH mountains, always taking his dog with him. He loved the outdoors, fishing brooks, streams and lakes. Ryan was very familiar with wild mushrooms, and enjoyed trading a dinner out at some of Keene's finest eateries for a batch of fresh picked chanterelles or hen-of-the-woods.Ryan was more than just a brother andfamily member. He was a true friend. He was alwaysthinking of other's before himself. He will always be loved and remembered and there won\'t be a day that goes bythat he will not be missed.

In addition to his parents, Ryan is survived by his sister Amanda and her husband Ryan Berg of Gardner, MA; his 2 brothers, Mark Lord and his wife Elena Perez of Rye, NH and Jason and his wife Tara Bemis of Keene, NH; his Aunt Christine and Uncle Winston Ryan of Kennebunkport, ME; his Uncle John Korpi and Aunt Leona Hendrickson, both of New Ipswich, NH; his cousins Garrett and Miranda Ryan of Scarborough, ME, Gregg, Rachelle and Brayden Ryan of Salem, NH, and Ingrid and Knud Hendrickson of Washington State; and many close friends including his faithful dog and companion Titan.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to make memorial contributions in Ryans name to the Monadnock Humane Society, PO Box 678, West Swanzey, NH 03469.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend calling hours on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202 South) in Jaffrey.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 1:00PM in the Fitzwilliam Community Church on the common in Fitzwilliam, NH. Rev. Linda T. Tolton, Pastor will officiate at the service.
