Sally Dunn, 72, died June 24, 2008 at the Pleasant View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Concord, NH.
Born in Groveland, MA., she was the daughter of Clayton and Mary Farrar. She graduated from Groveland High School in 1953 and received her teaching degree from Bridgewater State Teachers College in Bridgewater, MA.
She lived and worked as a Middle School English teacher in Franklin, MA before moving to Jaffrey in 1997.
She attended Saint Patricks Church and The United Church of Jaffrey and was active in volunteer work with the Jaffrey Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, and the American Red Cross Volunteer Drivers Program. She was also active in the Alden Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Jaffrey Womans Club and Friends of the Library. Upon moving to Jaffrey she worked part time in the Jaffrey Childrens Library.
Second to her love for her family was her love for quilting. An avid and prolific quilter, she designed and made over 100 quilts, wall hangings and table runners since moving to Jaffrey. She loved the outdoor life of walking, biking, kayaking, cross-country skiing and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Robert of Jaffrey, a son Larry of Hooksett, NH, three daughters: Gayle Beaton of Newbury, NH, Karen Gambill of Virginia Beach, VA, Suzanne Miller of Chester, VA., ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, two nieces and one nephew.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 83 Court St., Keene, NH 03431, and the Jaffrey Food Pantry, 54 Main St., Jaffrey NH 03452.
Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00PM on Saturday at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202 South) Jaffrey.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 29, 08 at 2:00PM at the United Church of Jaffrey, 54 Main St., Jaffrey NH.
