Samuel Edward Cook, 82, resident of Greenville, NH died surrounded by his loving family at the Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, NH on Tuesday, June 16th.

Samuel was born on January 16, 1933 in Norwich, VT, a son of the late Fred and Wilma (Royal) Cook.

Sam was raised and educated in Norwich, VT, graduating from Hanover High School. After graduating from high school Sam enlisted in the United States Army. Upon faithfully serving his country he was Honorably Discharged on March 31, 1961. Sam moved back to Vermont following his military service.

Sam held many jobs over the years; Trumbell Nelson Construction, Hartford Landfill, and he owned and operated his own Taxi and Limousine service called Native Limousine. Sam married Beatrice (Beshaw) Cook on January 1, 1993 and then they settled in Greenville, NH.
He then took a job baking breads and cooking at Irena’s restaurant owned by his sister. He had a true love for automobiles, especially cars, he had a deep love for animal especially his little dog Molly, but his true passion in life was for his wife Beatrice and his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-two years, Beatrice Cook, Daughter; Mary and her husband Carl Webber of New Ipswich, NH, Son, Harold Beshaw and his wife Leigh of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Mary Ruth, Alex and Lucas Parhiala of New Ipswich. Daniel Webber also of New Ipswich and Emma Frances Beshaw of Carlisle Pennsylvania; Brothers Bill Cook of Vershire, Vt. and Dave Cook of Canaan, NH; Sisters Irena Parhiala of New Ipswich and Lois Hutchins of Lyme, NH, and many nieces’ nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Chet Cook of White River Jct. Vt. and Henry Cook of Bedford NH.

SERVICES: Per Sam’s wishes there will be no formal funeral service. His ashes will be spread on the family farm in Norwich, VT and a memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers Sam’s family has asked that donations be made in his honor to the Humane Society of NH.
