Shirley C. Santoro, 82, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at her home in Jaffrey, NH on September 7, 2017 with her family by her side.
Shirley was born in Rockland, ME on August 25, 1935, daughter of the late Henry and Bernice (Flood) Carlson. She was raised in Maine and received her education in Worcester, MA and went on to work as a seamstress after school
Shirley enjoyed sewing, gardening and most of all, spending time with her family.
She had married Bernard ‘Bernie’ Santoro in 1958 and they had lived in Holden, MA before moving to Jaffrey. Bernie and Shirley also enjoyed spending time at their home in Spruce Head, ME.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband on September 10, 2014.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Linda Santoro of Rindge, and Joann Bartlett and her husband James of Rutland, MA; her son David and his wife Margo Santoro of Stoddard; her granddaughter Reagan and grandson Brian, both of Rutland, MA; her brother Kurt and his wife Marie Carlson of Brewster, MA and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202) Jaffrey from 11:00AM until the time of the Graveside Service.
A Graveside Service will be conducted on Tuesday, immediately following calling hours at 1:00 PM at the family lot in Cutter Cemetery Extension on Harkness Road in Jaffrey. Rev. David Jadlocki, Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Rindge will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made in Shirley’s name to the Monadnock Kitty Rescue & Adoption, PO Box 468, Jaffrey, NH 03452
