Shirley E. Wiik

Shirley E. Wiik, a lifelong resident of New Ipswich, N.H, was called home to the Lord on October 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 5, 1926 in Westminster, MA, daughter of the late Leonard and Lillian (Walkonen) Aho.

Shirley was a charter member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being the organist for more than twenty years. She was a loving and devoted caretaker for her disabled son, Stanley, for more than forty years. She took pleasure in baking for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her son, Leslie, in 1966 and her husband, Toivo, in 1983 as well as her siblings Lillian Niemi, Lila Allain, Leonard, James and Harlan Aho.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy (Wiik) and her husband Jim Barry, of New Ipswich, N.H. and her loving son, Stanley Wiik, of Wilton, N.H.; her three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, Jonathan Barry and his wife Kelly and their children, Sean and Eve of Kingston, MA, Jessica (Barry) and her husband Mark Goodrich and their children, Jacob, Ryan, Emily and Melissa of New Ipswich, N.H., and Michael Barry and his wife Coleen and their children Paige and Brooke of Hampton, N.H. and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Services: Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 4:00 PM -7:00 PM in the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, N.H.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 200 Ashby Road, New Ipswich, N.H. Burial will follow at The Smithville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church memorial fund.
