Stella M Bussiere

Stella Mary (Bourgoine) Bussiere, 86, of Jaffrey passed away peacefully on May 29, 2023, at the Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Jaffrey, NH.

Stella was born in West Peterborough, NH on January 14, 1937, the only daughter of the late Joseph Edmund and Alice (Labier) Bourgoine. She grew up in West Peterborough, attending local schools and was a participant of the girls’ basketball team at Peterborough High School, where she graduated with the class of 1955.  She married the love of her life, Robert Edmund Bussiere on January 10, 1959, and moved to Jaffrey, where she made her home. She worked at the American Guernsey Cattle Club, was a bookkeeper at both Elite Laundry & Dry Cleaning and Coll’s Farm Stand and provided customer service at Peterborough Savings Bank.

Stella enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for all occasions, especially her family’s birthdays, and made several multi-tiered wedding cakes. She will be remembered fondly by her family for her famous chocolate cake with whipped frosting. She enjoyed swimming in the pool at their home, candlepin bowling and playing golf. She and Bob spent winters in Myrtle Beach, SC, their home away from home.

In addition to her parents, Stella was predeceased in 2021 by her husband of 62 years, Robert, and by her beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth in 1994. She was also predeceased by her brothers and their wives: Lawrence and Beverly; Leo and Priscilla; Paul and Marguerite; Joseph; and an infant brother, Nelson.

She is survived by her four children: daughter Linda Guyette of Peterborough; and her three sons, Kenneth and his wife Robin of Jaffrey, Steven and his wife Betty Ann of Jaffrey, and Paul and his wife Candy of Peterborough. She also leaves her five grandchildren: Joshua Bussiere, Ashley Bussiere, Caitlin Guyette, Hayley Guyette and Shane Bussiere, plus her five great-grandchildren: Lilyana Ennis, Jeffrey Ennis, Lea Ennis, Ellyse Bussiere, and Colson Bussiere, her sister-in-law Mary McCreary plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Saint Patrick’s Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH. Rev. Wilfred H. Deschamps, Pastor, will be officiating.
