Stella T. Migotsky

May 7, 1923 — August 5, 2010

Stella T. Migotsky of Jaffrey, New Hampshire died Thursday August 5, 2010 peacefully at the home of her eldest son, after a short fight against stomach cancer. She is survived by her brother Paul Tworzyanski of Alpine, Alabama; her brother ChesterTworzyanski and his wife Gerdaof Delray Beach, Florida; her son Stephen and his wife Fay and their children David, Rebecca and Jennifer of Jaffrey, New Hampshire; her son Mark and his wife Nivart and their children Sean, Michael and Nicole of Bellevue, Washington; her son John and his wife Susan and their children Spencer and Tess of Scarsdale, New York; and her son Christopher and his wife Sharon, of Mahomet, Illinois.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Eugene in 2002, her daughter Alexandra (Sandy) Migotsky in 2006, and her son E. Gregg in 1963.

She was born in Huntington Station, NY, on May 7, 1923, to Joseph and Anna Tworzyanski. Stella attended Huntington High School. In 1945 she married Eugene Migotsky, and lived in places stretching from Ann Arbor, MI to Saratoga, CA to Lynnfield, MA, and back to California where she received an Associate Degree from Harbor College in Los Angeles, of which she was particularly proud, since she earned it after she turned 50. She held various administrative assistant positions, the last (and longest) asAdministrativeAssistant to Engineering Dept. at Port Authority of New Orleans, Louisiana. The last place she and Eugene moved to was Slidell, Louisiana where they spent over 30 years showing friends and family around the French Quarter in New Orleans. Stella also enjoyed an occasional outing to the local casinos with her best friends, her 'sisters', she met while living there. Several years after her husband died, Stella moved to Jaffrey, NH in 2009 where she continued to be an avid reader of all kinds of books, and could read one to three books a week. Her interests ranged from Agatha Christie to the Bible. She continued to do the Jumble word puzzle, and sometimes called her son in Bellevue, WA to discuss the answers. In Slidell, Stella was a member of the Episcopal Church, and in Jaffrey she became a member of theJaffrey Presbyterian Church, where her eldest is the minister.

Stella Migotsky was a greatmother to her children throughout all her life. She was always, loving, patient, even-tempered, and wise. She knew how much to let go and when to let go of each child as he, or she, grew up. She was the same with all her grandchildren. Society doesn't give medals or promotions for motherhood. If they did, she would be a five star general! All her surviving sons were in the house with her when she passed away at her son's home in Jaffrey.
