Terry Hull Files, 88, husband of Sandy Files, died July 30, 2024 at his home in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. He was the son of the late Judson & Marjorie Files. He graduated from Ellsworth High School and lived in South Windsor, CT for most of his life.
Terry and Sandy lived 40 years in the saltbox home they built and were never without a Scottish Terrier or two. In 2019 they moved to their retirement home in NH. They enjoyed a few months each year at their winter home in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Terry enjoyed a long career as a heavy equipment operator and was a proud and passionate member of Local 478 Operating Engineers, Hamden, CT. He was honored to serve as a steward and on the executive board of the union. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and had a talent for masonry, especially stonework. Terry was a US Army veteran and served two years in Germany.
Terry leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Sandy, and his daughter Wendy Files of South Windsor, his son Aric Files of Windsor Locks, and his brother Peter Files and wife Margaret of East Windsor. He was predeceased by his first wife Carolyn Files, son Dirk Files, and brother Judd Files.
Terry had a mischievous sense of humor. His smile and the twinkle in his deep blue eyes will be much missed.
