Thea Cabot Sabine

Thea Cabot Sabine died on April 25 at the age of 89 in Peterborough. Thea and her husband, Blake, were longtime residents of Dublin and moved to Rivermead in 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Edie Powell, son-in-law, Jeff Powell, and grandson, Blake Ko Powell. Born in New York City in 1927, Thea was the daughter of Thomas Handasyd Cabot and Thea Brush Cabot and the eldest of her sisters Georgia Fletcher, Elise Beecher and Elizabeth Haddock. In her early years she lived between Boston, Dublin and Hanover, New Hampshire. Later, she and Blake lived for many years in Annapolis, Maryland, and then retired back to the home they built in Dublin. Thea was a lifetime animal lover who often reflected on her two trips to Africa. Her three parrots have new homes, while her last in a long line of dogs predeceased her by mere days. Thea will be buried in the Dublin cemetery with her husband of 68 years who died last November. A service will be held in the summer to celebrate their lives together.
