Thelma Mae Paradise, 86, of Evans Road in Peterborough died peacefully at the Hillsborough House Nursing Home on February 15, 2014 .

Mrs. Paradise was born on November 7, 1927 in Antrim, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Albert and Mildred (Holt) Zabriskie. She was raised in Antrim and received her education there as well.

Mrs. Paradise married Homer C. Paradise on June 5, 1948 and began raising their family in Peterborough. Homer preceded her in death on August 29, 2009.

Mrs. Paradise was the office manager at Gates Inc. in Peterborough for many years. She had belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and had also assisted her husband with bookkeeping at his construction company.

She loved her family, especially any time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Paradise also enjoyed birds and all of the small animals around her home.

Mrs. Paradise is survived by her daughter Debra and her husband Tom Belcher of Bennington, NH; her son John Paradise and his wife Brenda of Bennington, NH; 6 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

There are no calling hours.

Family and friends are warmly invited to a graveside service at Pine Hill Cemetery on Sand Hill Road (use the lower entrance) in Peterborough, NH on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00AM

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monadnock Adult Care Center, 22 North Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
