After a period of failing health, Theresa “Terry” LaBelle, passed away on Friday, May 2, at the age of 83. With her husband of 52 years by her side, Terry died peacefully in her home as she wished. She was born on November 27, 1930 in Greenville, NH, to Albert and Laurianna Yelle and lived her life on the family farm in New Ipswich, NH. She graduated from Appleton Academy and went to work at Warwick Mills at a young age to help support her family. As an adult, Terry blended families with her husband, Felix “Phil” LaBelle, and together they had seven children. Terry had an unquenchable love of reading, filling her shelves with mysteries, historical fiction and religious text. She treasured her visits to the Amish country in Pennsylvania. She had a passion for yard sales, auctions and flea markets, and collected everything from salt shakers and spoons to porcelain dolls and Garfield memorabilia. She was a devout member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenville, NH, and attended Sunday mass regularly. Terry’s faith in God was strong and unwavering and she was a wonderful resource for religious counsel and advice.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Phil LaBelle; her sister Rose of Douglasville, GA; her daughter and son-in-law Sheila and John Stone of Inglis,FL; her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Tammy Warren of Inglis, FL; her daughter, Kathleen Poole of Inglis, FL; her step-daughter and son-in-law Peg and Brian Mayhew of Rutland, VT, her step-daughter Carla LaBelle of Rutland, VT; her son and daughter-in-law James and Wendy LaBelle of Antrim, NH; and her son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Jennifer LaBelle of Temple, NH; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces, a nephew, cousins and close friends. Theresa was preceded in death by her sister Connie of MI.
At Terry’s request there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated by Rev. Wilfred Deschamps on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 2:00PM in Sacred Heart Church, 15 High Street, Greenville, NH. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Ipswich, NH for family only, but please join us for a celebration of Terry’s life at the Hope Fellowship Church in New Ipswich from 3-6 pm (829 Turnpike Rd, New Ipswich, NH-in the medical plaza across from S&S Concrete).The family will join you immediately following the burial.
