Thomas E. Burrows

Thomas E. Burrows, 66, of Michigan Road in Jaffrey, NH, died peacefully December 13, 2011 at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, with his wife, Rachel (Betty), and family by his side following a period of failing health. Tom was born on September 10, 1945 in Keene, NH, son of the late Delpha (Cripps) and Walter F. Burrows. He grew up in Bennington, NH. Tom received his GED at age 50 showing his daughters the importance of education and the role it played in his employment. Tom had been employed briefly at Suprenaut Wire and Cable before working at New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough where he retired after more than 25 years of service. Tom was predeceased by both of his daughters, Josephine M. Covey on August 3, 2000, and Megan E. Burrows on March 30, 2009, and by his brother, Allen Burrows. Tom is survived by his loving wife of over 38 years, Rachel (Betty) Labbe Burrows of Jaffrey, NH; his grandson, Thomas John Covey and son-in-law, John N. Covey Jr. of Hancock, NH; his 2 sisters, Pauline and her husband James Wood of Jaffrey, NH and Largo, Fla., and Frances and her husband William Shackett of Croydon, N.H; his 2 brothers, David C. Burrows and his wife Jacqueline of Jaffrey, NH and William Burrows and his wife Sandra of Hillsborough, NH. Tom will also be missed by sister-in-law, Joanne Prentice and her husband Gordon of Clinton, MA, and brother-in-law, Harold and his wife Dorothy Labbe of Tucson, AZ; his 2 aunts, Geneva of Medford, MA, and Jennie from PA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to the Jaffrey Food Pantry, 54 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452, or in the spirit of the Christmas season, please give financial support to someone in need.

Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Tom’s life on Monday, December 19, 2011 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey, on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 10:00AM. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
