Jaffrey, NH
Thomas R. Remillard, 55, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday, July 7, 2013. Tom was born in Manchester on April 4, 1958, the third child of Maurice A. and Lorraine T. (Soucy) Remillard.
Tom attended Manchester schools and graduated from Manchester West High School in 1976. He earned an Associate’s degree in HVAC from New Hampshire Community Technical College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. Tom spent some time working in insurance, construction and real estate, but found his true calling serving the schools of Jaffrey, Milford and finally Keene.
In addition to his father, Tom is survived by his best friend and wife of 30 years, Adèle (Hamel) Remillard, and his children, Tony Remillard of Manchester, Janice Remillard and her fiancé A.J. Solan of Milford, Catherine Remillard and Theresa Remillard, both of Jaffrey. Also surviving are his brothers David Remillard and his wife Susan of Kittery Point, Maine, and Mark Remillard and his wife Dorine of Auburn; sisters Alice Chabot of Hooksett and Judy Remillard of Loudon; Godmother, Aunt Lucille Boucher; Uncle Armand “Soupy” and Tante Jan Soucy; Uncle Albert “Romy” Remillard; Aunt Doreen Remillard; many wonderful cousins; his in-laws Al and Connie Hamel of Chester, Al Hamel and Miriam Arroyo of Massachusetts, Denis and Catherine Hamel of Maryland, Julie and Rich Wagner of New York, and Lise Hamel and Scott Arthurs of Maine; nieces Jessica and Jaime Chabot, Jayna Guild, Beth Wagner, Micah and Cara Hamel, and Kim, Anna, and Julia Remillard; nephews Hal and Eric Hamel, Joe, Rick, Tim, and Tom Wagner, Ryan Chabot and his fiancée Kara, Adam Remillard and Bradley Arthurs; and extended family Bruce and Debbie Bailey, Steve and Su Robinson, Steve and Nancy Johnson, Sunny Mulligan and Pat Shea, Joanne Johnson, Frank and Annie Sommers, and Dennis and Michelle Vincent. Tom was predeceased by his mother.
Husband. Father. Son. Brother. Uncle. Friend. It would be impossible to settle on just one label for Tom –he wore so many hats and gave so much to so many. Tom’s lifetime accomplishments were many but his proudest was his family. Nothing mattered more. Mere words are beyond inadequate to convey the depth and breadth of his loss.
Tom’s family requests that, in lieu of flowers, those who are inclined to honor his legacy in a more tangible manner might consider donating to the Tuition Assistance Fund at Plowshare Farm, 32 Whitney Road, Greenfield, NH 03047, an organization that is near and dear to him and his family. http://www.plowsharefarm.org/
