Timothy James O'Neil

Timothy James O'Neil got out of Dodge. He passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, in the comfort of his own home and in his own bed with people who loved him at his side, with his dogs standing watch.

Tim was born at Monadnock Community Hospital on February 7, 1956, the son of David "Bun" and Estelle O'Neil. A 1974 graduate of Conant High School, and achieved Eagle Scout. He spent his life in Jaffrey, and never wanted to live anywhere else. He was a printer by trade, and worked at DD Bean & Sons, NCR, NEBS and Printegra before retiring in 2009. Printing was his trade, but hunting and fishing were Tim's passions, and the opening days of trout season and deer season were his two favorite days of the year. Tim would share his knowledge with anyone who cared to listen and would do so with great enthusiasm. Some of his most cherished memories were of days spent with his hunting buddies, either out in the woods or standing around a dead deer reliving the hunt.

Tim is survived by his wife and best friend, Donna Straitiff; his three daughters, Amalia Arnold (Benjamin) of Milford, NH, Carrie O'Neil of Derry, NH and Meghan O'Neil (George) of Jaffrey, NH; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings; Peggy Lambert (Dennis) and Michael O'Neil of Jaffrey, NH, Karen Arceci of Manchester, NH and John O'Neil (Melda) of Greenville, NH, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. He is predeceased by both of his parents, as well as brother Barry O'Neil and sister-in-law Tina O'Neil.

The Boston Celtics lost one of their biggest fans.

His pups Tatum and Anika will miss him dearly.

At Tim's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. He asked, instead, that those who loved him take a walk in the woods and think of him. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Tim's memory to Hospice at HCS, 312 Marlborough Street, Keene, NH 03431 or Joy's Network, 463 Washington Street, Keene, NH 03431.
