Travers L. Rank

Peterborough, NH Travers L. Rank, 87, of Currier Avenue, Peterborough died peacefully, with his son by his side on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough after a brief illness. He was born on October 23, 1924 in Ohio, New York, son of the late Leo and Amy (Young) Rank. Mr. Rank graduated in 1943 from Herkimer (NY) High School. Following high school, he served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Upon returning from the Navy, Mr. Rank married his sweetheart, Dolores Brown on September 11, 1948 and soon after, returned to school and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Utica College in 1952. After moving to New Hampshire Mr. Mrs. Rank opened Seven Falcon Inc. in Antrim, a fastener distributorship which they owned and operated for over 30 years. Mr. Rank had been a resident of Peterborough for the past forty-five years. He was a self-proclaimed workaholic and didn’t have many interests other than working and providing for his family. However, he did cherish his family and all the special times spent together with them. Mr. Rank is survived by his son Travers A. Rank and his wife Vicky of Antrim; his two grandchildren, Travers and Madison also of Antrim; his “daughter by choice” Robin Nolan of New Ipswich, and many close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Peterborough Ambulance, c/o Peterborough Fire Rescue, 16 Summer Street, Peterborough, NH 03458, or to the Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance, PO Box 107, Jaffrey, NH 03452.

There will be no calling hours or formal services at this time. Burial will be in the spring at the convenience of his family.
