Victor Francis Wheeler

Victor Francis Wheeler, 60, of Peterborough, NH, passed away peacefully at Monadnock Community Hospital in his wife’s arms, on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Born on September 3, 1964, in Peterborough, NH, he was the son of Beverly (Jones) Wheeler and the late Roger Wheeler. He proudly served our nation in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Victor soon joined the automotive industry, working as a mechanic first for the Gulf Station in Peterborough. He later opened his own shop, Rindge Quality Auto, and operated that for many years. In recent years, he worked at Advanced Auto Parts in Jaffrey and most recently at Maillet Auto in Greenville.

Vic loved fixing things. There was pretty much nothing he couldn’t figure out how to fix. Vic loved football and was a lifelong Dallas Cowboy’s fan. He also loved spending time with family, his many friends (whom he considered family), and with his wife of 25 years, Linda. In July of 2024, they had renewed their wedding vows as a celebration.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Martha Jones Ergle in 2013.

Victor is survived by his wife Linda Wheeler of Peterborough, his sons Joshua Wheeler (and his wife Jessica) of Maine and Jacob Wheeler of Jaffrey, his daughter Jennifer Sparling of Massachusetts, step children (who he considered and loved as his own), Effin Chalke, Megan Van Horn, Trisha Courtemanche and Teresa Favreau, 13 step grandchildren, his mother Beverly Wheeler, brother Mark Wheeler and his wife Tammy of Pinellas Park, FL, sister Melinda Breen and her partner Doug Stone of Antrim, NH, brother Daniel Wheeler of AZ, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be calling hours Monday, January 13, 2024 at Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH, at 1:00PM, followed by a service, officiated by Reverend Doctor F. Daniel Osgood, at 2:00PM.
