Virginia G. Fournier, 92, formerly of Greenville, NH, died peacefully on Sunday May 11, 2014 at the JML Health Care Center in Falmouth, Mass after a period of failing health.

Mrs. Fournier was born on November 9, 1921 in Greenville, daughter of the late Harry and Annie (Ashe) Nutting. She lived most of her life in Greenville but did enjoy living in Deland, Florida from 1986 to 2001 and later in Falmouth when her health began to decline.

Mrs. Fournier had worked as a medical secretary in Dr. Simon and Dr. Heimburg’s orthopedic practice in Fitchburg, Mass for over 28 years, retiring in 1986. She also assisted her husband, Raymond L. Fournier, after he founded the former Fournier Funeral Home in Greenville. Mrs. Fournier was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at the LeClair-Caron-Pelletier American Legion Post #13 in Greenville and served in the Souhegan Lions Club volunteering in many ways throughout the communities of Greenville, Mason, New Ipswich and Temple.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Fournier was also preceded in death by her son Edmund K. Fournier, and by her sisters; Mildred, Marjorie and Patricia; and by her brothers; George, Herbert, Raymond and Roger.

She is survived by her daughter with whom she had been living, Cynthia K. Keary and her husband Ted of North Falmouth, Mass; her son Dennis and his wife Cheryl Fournier of New Ipswich, and her son Daryl Fournier of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Friends and family are warmly invited to Calling hours on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202 South), Jaffrey. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Street Cemetery in Greenville.
