Virginia 'Ginny' Cary Quinlan

Virginia “Ginny” Cary Quinlan, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 31, 2013, surrounded by family and friends.

A longtime resident of Jaffrey, NH, she was born in Arlington, MA on October 10, 1928. She graduated from Winchester High School in Winchester, MA and Mount Ida College in Newton, MA.

Ginny was an avid crossword puzzler and reader, loved traveling to France, England and the Virgin Islands, and a loyal Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics fan. She was actively involved in the local, state and national Democratic Party and was a fixture volunteering at the polls on election days. She also volunteered with the Visiting Nurse Association during their blood drives.

She is survived by her husband Francis X. Quinlan of Jaffrey, NH, sons Timothy Quinlan of Brewster, MA, Mark Quinlan of Amherst, NH and Henry Quinlan of Jaffrey, NH, sister Deborah Murnion of Bellvale, NY, and grandson Sam Quinlan of Lake Tahoe, NV.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at HCS, P.O. Box 564, Keene, NH 03431, or to Shelter from the Storm, P.O. Box 257, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
