Virginia “Ginny” Turner Perry, 75, of Jaffrey, NH, passed away peacefully at Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, with her daughter, Alana by her side on Monday, November 18, 2024. Her daughter Shannon, who has been her devoted caregiver was in surgery and unable to be present.
Born on November 23, 1948, in Gadsden, AL, she was the daughter of the late Ortho Randolph “Randy” and Margaret “Peggy” Turner (Pope) Sigrest. Ginny graduated from West End High School in 1966. She went on to become a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters for ten years of her marriage. After this she had a career in accounting and finance as a payroll specialist until her retirement in 2012.
Ginny had many hobbies and enjoyed music and dancing, going to the movies, playing card games, and solving crossword puzzles. Her favorite of course was watching and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Roll Tide Roll! She had extra special memories of singing with her sister, Susan, in the church choir for many years. Ginny was also a big animal lover, she never forgot how much she loved her childhood dogs Rusty and Marti, as well as many very special cats over the years. But nothing could compare to the joy she felt when spending time with the family she loved, making fun foods like cinnamon rolls, playing games, dance parties and making forts.
Ginny is predeceased by her father and mother.
Ginny is survived by her daughters Shannon (Matt) Phillips of Peterborough, NH, and Alana (Chad) White of Fort Meade, MD; and her sister, Susan Sigrest of Jaffrey, NH. Virginia was also the proud grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Ethan Phillips, Aiden Phillips, Ella Phillips, Marlee White, Tucker White, Dylin White, Talon White and Ajax White, who will all dearly miss their grandmother “Granna.”
There will be no services at this time.
At a later date, Shannon and Alana plan to take a trip in her honor, to the ocean, where she had many fond memories.
