WALTER J. MARCHUK, 80, of East Road, Temple, died peacefully at his home on Monday August 18, 2008 surrounded by family.
He was born April 16, 1928 in Chelsea MA, son of the late John and Mary (Zontonsky) Marchuk.
He had attended Peabody MA public schools and during World War II had served with the American Merchant Marines.
Mr. Marchuk has been a resident of Temple for the past forty-nine years.

Mr. Marchuk was employed for thirty years with Hitchiners Manufacturing Co. Inc in Milford, retiring in 1993. He had previously worked for Sprague Carlton also in Milford.

He loved music and was an accomplished accordion player and had his own band at numerous times through out his life.
He loved his farm and also the ocean but most cherished was time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Dorothy (Melanson) Marchuk of Temple; two sons Stephen J. Marchuk of Hancock and Phillip W. Marchuk of Temple; a grandson Christopher Marchuk of Hancock; a sister Anna Broughton of Peabody MA; several nieces and nephews.

Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.

As per his request, there will be no calling hours or formal funeral services at this time.
