William 'Bill' Nason

WILLIAM Bill NASON, 63, of Carriage Hill Drive in Jaffrey, died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough after a lengthy illness.
 
Bill was born in Melrose, Mass. on February 23, 1945, son of the late James and Amelia (Allaire) Nason.  He had lived in Sharon and Peterborough for many years before living in Jaffrey. 
 
Bill was a 1963 graduate of the former Peterborough (NH) High School and had graduated with a Business Administration Degree from Nathaniel Hawthorne College in 1978. 
 
From 1963 to 1969, Bill served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and had been stationed throughout Texas at several bases.
 
When Bill returned from the service, he worked for Fontaine Ford in Peterborough for a short time before joining the Peterborough Police Department where he served the townspeople of Peterborough until 1980.  During that time and until 1990 he also refined his technical skills working at New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough in the assembly and calibration areas.   Most recently and for more than 15 years, Bill has worked in the custodial department for the Jaffrey-Rindge School District in Jaffrey.
 
He enjoyed computers and photography and is fondly remembered for always liking the latest gadgets.  He also enjoyed fishing with his sons.   
 
Bill is survived by his daughter Nicole Scalf of Hazel Green, Alabama; his 2 sons, Stephen B. Nason of Wilton, NH and Keith W. Nason of Bennington, NH; 8 grandchildren; his long time companion Pat Ferrell of Jaffrey; his brothers Donald and Clifford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Burial will take place in the spring at Pine Hill Cemetery in Peterborough.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center at 33 River Street in Jaffrey.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the chapel at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor of Saint Patrick Church of Jaffrey, will officiate.
