Winona S. Girouard

Winona S. Girouard, 99, formerly of Troy, NH, died peacefully on Saturday December 13, 2014, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Girouard was born on October 22, 1915 in Francestown, NH, daughter of the late William and Grace (Stevens) Stone. She was a 1934 graduate of Milford High School and had been married to Arthur Girouard.

Winona had worked for the Troy Blanket Mill for many years and had retired from Millipore Corp. in Jaffrey. She enjoyed tending her flower and vegetable gardens and loved to cook. She had belonged to the Rebekah Lodge in Troy and the Woman’s Guild at the Troy Congregational Church. She had also been a Girl Scout leader and always enjoyed having her grandchildren over at her cottage on Pleasant Pond in Francestown.

Mrs. Girouard was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1990. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Tyler of Jaffrey; her 2 grandsons, John Tyler of Bennington, NH and Darrell Tyler of Holden, ME; her great-grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Ben, Abby and Jacob, and an extended family and friends.

At Mrs. Girouard’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at Mountain View Cemetery in Troy, NH in the spring.
